Mary Dimple Smith, 92, of Elizabeth, Ind., formerly of Columbia, passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2016 at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, Ind.
She was born on April 5, 1924 in Coburg and was the daughter of the late Robert O. and Mary Etta Feese Sullivan.
She worked as an accounting clerk and receptionist and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 2950 Ladies Auxiliary in Corydon, Ind.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin P. Smith; her daughter, Jacquelyn Thomas; and her brothers, W.G. and David Owen Sullivan.
She is survived by her sons, Ed Smith (Jean) of Corydon, Ind., Ralph Smith (Marsha) of Elizabeth, Ind., Joe Wayne Smith (Helen) of Midlothian, Texas and Leonard B. Smith of Elizabeth, Ind.; and her sister, Dorothy Opal Sterling of Tuscon, Ariz. Ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter also survive.
Funeral service was Tuesday, Oct. 25 at Beanblossom Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon, Ind. with Pastor Darrell Biram officiating and graveside service at Cane Valley Cemetery.
Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
