ACPC Kindergarten Students Perform Musical

Posted

he youngest students in the Adair County School District made a big impression Tuesday with two presentations of “A Season of Fun,” a Christmas musical performance by kindergarteners at Adair County Primary Center. All nine kindergarten classes at ACPC participated in the show.

“Each class had their own special song, and each class played a part in helping plan the show,” explains ACPC music teacher Laura Marcum. “Some classes came up with the hand motions and others had ideas about costumes, props, and instruments to use.”

The show was the culmination of weeks of practice. It began with a parade around the gym, and – after each class performed its song – the entire group came together for two songs to close the program, bringing the audience to its feet both times.

The students performed for the ACPC student body Tuesday morning before the parents poured in for the matinee, which was standing-room only with several spectators spilling out into the hallway beside the gymnasium. “They are usually shocked when they first come out and see so many people filling the bleachers,” Marcum says. “I could definitely tell that they were more confident in our afternoon show. They did a great job.”
