Art Winners and Scholarships

Last week, Campbellsville Universities Art Department, presided over a Art Contest for area high school students. Cayce Davenport, Adair County High School Art Teacher, helped her students, who were interested, prepare their work for the competition. The results were wonderful. Shown here are Sarah Berberich, Tyler McKinney, LaShay Corbin, Courtney Keezer, Gabe Wilson, Not shown are Hannah Scott and Tiara Holmes. The placements and awards of these wonderful students where -- Drawing --3rd Place: Sarah Berberich, Painting -- 2nd Place: Tiara Holmes, Graphic Design --2nd Place: Tyler McKinney, Mixed Media --3 rd Place: LaShay Corbin, --Ceramics --1 st Place: Courtney Keezer, 2 nd Place: Gabe Wilson, 3 rd Place: Gabe Wilson, Honorable Mention: Hannah Scott, and BEST OF SHOW --Courtney Keezer. A big congratulations to all the Adair County High School students who participated in the Art Competition and congratulations to all those who received ribbons and monetary awards.

Courtney Keezer also competed for the Campbellsville Universities Art Department Scholarship and was awarded 2 of the 3 scholarships offered. The teaching staff at Campbellsville University Art Department judged the scholarship applicants. Each applicant presented their portfolios (collection of artwork) and participated in a rigorous interview process. The Campbellsville University professors were extremely impressed with Courtney's work. The astounding part is Courtney has only been working in Photography and Ceramics for under a year. Courtney is a senior at Adair County High School in Ms. Cayce Davenport's advanced art classes. She plans on majoring in Art at Campbellsville University.

Hannah Scott was not available for the photograph of Adair County High School students who won awards at the Campbellsville University Art Competition but her Painting won 2nd place and we did not want the public to miss our and such a wonderful piece.
