The Adair County High School Band held its annual Mark Twain concert over the weekend where it hosted performances by nine other bands from the commonwealth of Kentucky. The ACHS Band also kicked off their season as the final performance at the event.
Band director Jordan Humphress is excited for community members to come out and support the band at local events.
“The students are very motivated this year,” said Humphress. The first local performance will be at the Adair County High School football home game on Friday, Sept. 22.
Members of the community may also support the band while its away on competition. The first contest will be Saturday, Sept. 9 at Madison Southern High School in Berea. The band will also perform at state championships on Saturday, Oct. 28 at Western Kentucky University.
