William Todd Bryant appeared in Adair Circuit Court on Tuesday and entered a guilty plea to numerous charges related to child pornography and child sexual abuse.
Bryant, age 46, pled guilty to one count of Human Trafficking, a Class B Felony. Bryant also pled guilty to 45 counts of Sodomy in the Second Degree and 250 counts of Possession of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Minor.
Bryant appeared in Adair Circuit Court with his attorney, Hon. Theodore Lavit of Lebanon, and acknowledged that he was guilty of each of the 296 charges. One count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Minor was dismissed.
Commonwealth’s Attorney Brian Wright is recommending that Bryant serve 30 years in prison for these crimes against children.
The charges were the result of an investigation led by Kentucky State Police Trooper Adam Likins that began in May 2017. Likins was contacted by officials with the Department of Community Based Services regarding allegations that Bryant had sexually abused a child.
The investigation by Trooper Likins corroborated the sexual abuse allegations and also uncovered thousands of images of child pornography in Bryant’s possession.
Wright thanked Trooper Likins, the Kentucky State Police, and DCBS for conducting a thorough investigation in this case and helping to secure a guilty plea and lengthy prison sentence for Bryant.
Final sentencing is scheduled for September 25 at 1 p.m., before Adair Circuit Judge Judy Vance Murphy.
