Hixson leads Indians past Taylor County

CAMPBELLSVILLE - Senior pitcher Will Hixson pitched Adair County past Taylor County on Monday as the Indians pulled away to win 4-1 over the Cardinals.

Adair County, which earned its sixth straight win, received a stellar pitching performance from Hixson. The Adair County hurler fared well throughout the district contest. Hixson limited a very capable Taylor County hitting lineup to just four hits and only one run in a district tilt between two rivals who are no strangers.

Determined Adair County continued to win after returning from a Spring Break tournament held in Florida earlier in the season.

The Indians scored four runs via eight hits. Adair County score one or more runs in multiple innings.

Defensively, Adair County was only charged with one error.

Taylor County was limited to four hits. Homestanding Taylor County was never able to get going offensively. Hixson kept Taylor County in check throughout the game.

Taylor County had a pair of costly miscues in the field. The Cardinals committed two errors in the loss. Hixson helped hie cause at the plate, helping to lead the Adair County offense with two hits. Tanner Pooler also provided two hits for the Indians.

The victory over Taylor County allowed the Indians to remain undefeated in the 20th District.

Adair County is scheduled to entertain Taylor County on Thursday (April 25) when the two teams will meet for the second and final game of a two-game 20th District regular-season series.
