The Lindsey Wilson women’s basketball program added Cameron McPherson for the upcoming 2015-16 season, head coach John B. Wethington announced on Monday.

McPherson joins the Blue Raiders from Danville High School in Danville, Ky., where she averaged 22 points during her senior campaign for the Admirals.

She also had 4.0 assists and 3.7 rebounds per game while playing the guard position.

McPherson was named the 12th Region Player of the Year and helped Danville to a 20-7 record her senior season.

She was also named the Most Valuable Player at the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches East-West All-Star game in Bowling Green, Ky., after dropping a game-high 31 points.

McPherson also earned Region 12 All State Honorable Mention honors.

During her junior season at Danville, McPherson led the Admirals to the Sweet Sixteen quarterfinals while averaging 14.3 points per game while earning First Team All-Area honors.

“Cameron comes from a very solid and successful program at Danville,” Wethington said. “They like to press and get up and down the floor in similar ways to our program, so the athleticism she developed will help make the transition from high school to college even smoother. She can shoot the ball well and is an incredible scorer that has the ability to contribute to the team immediately.”
