The Lindsey Wilson women’s swimming team is sending five individuals to compete at the 35th Annual NAIA Women’s Swimming & Diving National Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The events begin on Wednesday morning and conclude with a final session on March 7.
Courtney Fleeger, Kelsey Marshall, Elena Nikolaeva, and Laura Stephenson are scheduled to compete in a team-high eight events, including all five relay events together. Susan Herrington is scheduled to race in the 200 yard butterfly event.
The relay foursome have recorded times in the 200 and 400 yard medley relay and the 200 and 800 freestyle relay that have all been in the top-10 fastest in the NAIA this season.
Stephenson has multiple individual events where she has recorded a top-10 time this year, including the 200 yard individual medley (third fastest), 200 yard butterfly (fifth fastest), 100 yard butterfly (eighth fastest) and 400 yard IM (10th fastest).
Fleeger holds the 15th fastest time this year in the 400 yard IM and Nikolaeva holds the 16th fastest time in the 100 yard backstroke.
Along with competing in all five relay events, Fleeger will compete in the 200 and 400 yard IM and 200 yard breaststroke, Marshall in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke, Nikolaeva in the 200 yard IM and 100 and 200 yard backstroke and Stephenson in the 200 yard IM and 100 and 200 yard butterfly.
No. 9-ranked Lindsey Wilson attempts to improve upon its 10th place finish last year at the national championships.
