So far three individuals have filed to run in the 2018 Adair County Sheriff Race, current Sheriff Harrison Moss, Columbia Police Officer Josh Brockman, and just last week newcomer Dallas Luttrell filed; Luttrell is a retired Arizona State Trooper and is the current Colonel of all Ky. Park Rangers.
Each individual has unique law enforcement experience and years of public service in each of their respective backgrounds.
Moss has spent the last seven years as Sheriff of Adair County, while Brockman has 16 years of experience as a certified/academy trained law enforcement officer.
Moss will be running as a democrat, while Brockman and Luttrell will be running as republicans.
Luttrell was born in Adair County, but moved to Indiana as a young child. Luttrell spent nearly 20 as an Arizona State Trooper working along the U.S./Mexico border.
In 2012, Luttrell and his wife moved back to Adair County and Luttrell has been working for the state as Colonel of the Kentucky Park Rangers since 2013. With 26 years of law enforcement and public service under his belt, Luttrell is hopeful that voters will recognize his qualifications.
Luttrell and Brockman will square off in the May primary to determine who will represent the republican party; if no one else files to run as a democrat, Moss will not have any opposition in the May primary.
