Jamie Richard (left) is resigning as the Adair County jailer to accept the role of sheriff following the retirement of Josh Brockman. Buddy Powell (center) will become the new jailer. Both were sworn in on Monday and the new positions will take effect on Oct. 1. Both positions are elected offices and will be on the 2026 ballot.
