Winston Hadley, 72, of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., formerly of Adair County, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Roper St. Francis Hospital in Charlestown, S.C. He was born on March 29, 1945 and was the son of the late Walter and Martha Bryant Hadley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ronnie Hadley, Terry Hadley and Wendell Hadley. He is survived by his wife, Judy Dial Hadley of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; three sons, Scott Hadley and wife Sandra of Russell Springs, Shawn Hadley and David McGuire of Simpsonville and Eric Hadley and Jeremy Hadley of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; one brother, Kermit Hadley of Columbia; four sisters, Geraldine Baldwin of Russell Springs, Carol Young of Shepherdsville, Willowdene Gurnow of Shepherdsville and Connie Smith of Milltown; and four grandchildren, Emily Hadley, Nicholas (Hannah) Hadley, Edie Hadley and Martha Hadley. Winston was a member of Free Union Separate Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for several years and was a farmer. He enjoyed serving the Lord and being with his family and friends. Funeral service was Tuesday, May 23 at the Free Union Separate Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Hadley and Bro. Dustin McGowan officiating and interment in the Free Union Cemetery. Pallbearers were Steve Foley, Amos Gaskins, Ralph Grider, David Kinnett, Kenneth Reese and Charles Shepherd. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
