Danville, KY) – Just after noon today, Post 7 Richmond received a tip that Matthew Dale Grider had been seen in the area of Curtis Road in rural Boyle County.
The Boyle County Sheriff’s Department, with one K9, and KSP personnel, responded to the area and began to track Grider. The search led to a barn in a field where Grider was spotted as he fled on foot out the rear of the barn.
Following a lengthy pursuit, Grider brandished a firearm and fatally shot himself. No shots were fired by law enforcement. The death investigation is being handled by Detectives with KSP Post 7.
