The Adair County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle injury accident two miles east of Columbia on Russell Springs Road at approximately 4:12 p.m. on Friday, April 10.

The accident occurred when 29-year-old Bethany Witham of Campbellsville failed to stop her 2017 Mazda car on East 80 Drive and pulled into the path of a 2020 Freightliner semi-trailer being operated by 45-year-old Columbus McGrew of Louisville. Witham’s vehicle was knocked off the roadway. McGrew was not injured and Witham was taken to T.J. Health Columbia by Adair County EMS, where she was treated and later released.

Sheriff Deputy Brandon Hitch is the investigating officer and was assisted by Columbia Police Department, Kentucky State Police and Columbia-Adair County Fire Department.
