Billy Joe Patton age 86 of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at his home. Billy Joe was born on September 19, 1934 in Adair County, to the late Rufus and Flora York Patton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alexander and Bobby Patton. He was a retired farmer and carpenter.
Survivors Include: wife – Nelda Patton of Columbia, son – Terry Patton (Christine) of Columbia, daughter – Carolyn Burton (Tommy) of Columbia, grandchildren – Jennifer Coffey, Kimberly Popplewell, Matthew Burton and Cheyenne Neat, eight great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in Columbia, with burial in the Freedom Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Wednesday, August 11, from 10 a.m. until time for the service.
Casket Bearers – Chris Popplewell, Larry Murray, Mitchell Rooks, Jessie Brown, Scott Coffey and Tommy Burton.
