Jonathan “John” Abrell, 45, of Allen School House Road community, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Medical Center at Caverna Emergency Room. He was born on July 1, 1971 and was the son of Jimmy and Barbara Denton Abrell of Columbia. Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Teresa Perkins Abrell of Columbia; daughter Keisha Abrell of Columbia; two step-children, Brittany Curry and Amber Curry of Columbia; one brother, Danny (Karen) Abrell of Russell Springs; two sisters, Julie (Jimmy) Smith of Russell Springs and Christina (Richard) Keirn of London; step-grandson, Elija Kost; two nephews, Josh (Roslin) Smith and Jake Smith; and a niece Kasey (Aaron) Wilkerson. Several other relatives and friends also survive. He was a member of Faith General Independent Church in Russell County, was a self employed dry wall finisher and enjoyed playing banjo and bluegrass gospel music. Funeral service was Monday, May 22 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Smith, Bro. Shane Gaskins and Bro. Richard Lehman officiating with interment in Brockman Kerr Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jerry Powell, Larry Powell, Ken Whelldon, Delbert Abbott, Stacy Huff and Zuel Yarberry. Honorary pallbearers were John Shirley and Marshall Kenwheeldon.
