Adair County Indians high school football team held a youth football camp on Friday. Thirty-six students from kindergarten through sixth grade participated in the event held at the high school.
Coach Bryan Cross and the team hosted the camp to help support Adair County Youth Football, (formerly Adair County Little League Football) and all proceeds went directly to the youth football program.
During the camp, participants separated into positions they will play, and the high school players focused on helping them develop their skills.
There are currently 96 students signed up to play youth football so far this year. Interleague games will be played at the middle school football field on Tuesday nights and the travel team will play on Saturdays. Games will begin on Aug. 26.
Josh Karnes, president of the youth league, encourages anyone that is interested in football to still sign up. There is a link on the Adair County Youth Football Facebook page to sign up or he can be reached at 270-250-3342. Signups will end on August 13.
