On Monday and Tuesday, the Adair County High School girls’ volleyball team played hard and were rewarded for their efforts with back-to-back wins against LaRue on Monday and Metcalfe County on the following night.
For the LaRue game, the stats are Freshmen one to one, JV one to one, and Varsity went three to one in a win for Adair County.
The set scores for the Varsity portion were 18-25, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-20 again.
Similarly, the girls scored several 25s in Tuesday night’s game versus Metcalfe when JV went two to zero for a major win. Varsity also scored a two, though the final score was two to one.
The set scores against Metcalfe were 25-13, 23-25, and 25-9.
The wins were well-earned, and keep the girls on a positive streak after pulling out wins or ties in the Mid-South Scrimmage earlier this month. Then, Coach Neat was proud to see her players demonstrate what they had learned in practice, and the games continue to serve as a showcase for just how hard they are training and playing.
In a statement, Coach Michelle Neat said of the game: “We are thankful to have started the year off with two wins on back-to-back nights. However, we still have areas to work on that will be our focus at practice moving forward. What I am most proud of is the fight and determination, despite not playing well in a couple of sets each game. The girls were able to bounce back quickly after those sets and play to our strengths to come up with the win. We look forward to starting district play on Thursday with Taylor and Monday with Marion, both coming to ‘The Burr.’ We hope our fans will show up in a big way to support these girls!”
