Adair County FBLA scored some huge victories last Friday at the Region 2 FBLA Regional Competition in Bowling Green.
Nearly 800 students made the trip to Western Kentucky University to compete and despite the high degree of competition, many Adair County students placed in the top five. The program itself also netted first place awards for largest local chapter membership and largest membership increase.
In the broadcast journalism category, Brayton Coomer, Jayden Miller, and Aidan Smith all placed first. Ian Makranszky placed first in intro to financial math, Briley Breeding in intro to marketing concepts, and Kolt King in public speaking. For website design, Edward Isaacs, Tyler Murphy, and Braxton Tucker all placed first.
Second place winners include Blaire Feese, Briley Wall, and Bristol Wall for business ethics. Skyler Huff came in second in intro to business concepts. Brayden Bennett placed second in UX design.
Third place winners include JT Loy in advertising; Russell Lassiter in computer problem solving; Andrew Zinati in personal finance; Kylieanne Akin and Lilly Myers in social media strategies; and Natalie Bardin in future business leader.
Kennedy Ray earned fourth place in the Eugene Smith award, Kaydence Karnes earned fourth in client service, Amelia Bloodworth earned fourth in insurance and risk management, and Seth Murphy earned fourth in the job interview category.
Chuley Acanto, Shayla Coffman, Seth Murphy, and Kennedy Ray all placed fifth in the category of bulletin board. Virignia Willis placed fifth in accounting. Bryce Russell earned fifth in financial math. Jerrod Phelps placed fifth in intro to business, Daria Cheng fifth in intro to FBLA, and Nathan Ballou was fifth in securities in investments.
Additionally, a Business Person of the Year was selected from Adair County and will be announced in the future.
Finally, Abigail Kemp was selected by the delegate assembly as the 2025-2026 regional president.
