Indians get 20 straight home game wins

Monday night’s game against Evangel Christian gave the Indian boys their 10th consecutive win, and their 20th consecutive win in the Adair County High School John Burr gymnasium.
It was the third win in a row for the boys, who had previously this week put up big numbers against Campbellsville with a win of 90 to 52 and went on to win against Bardstown with a score of 63 to 51. Their record-breaking score against Evangel Christian was a win of 69 to 51. That game, the Lindsey Wilson Shootout, provided the boys with the opportunity to get some impressive scores.
Connor Loy made the most baskets that game, contributing 24 points to his team across two-pointers, three-pointers, and free-throws. He made nearly 70 percent of his field goals, and he made five out of seven free-throw attempts. Only two points behind him, fellow senior Isaiah Cochran yielded 22 points. He shot six two-pointers and made four of five free-throw baskets. The third highest-scorer was senior Brayton Coomer with seven points.
As a whole, the boys kept all their stats above 50. They successfully executed nearly 70 percent of their free-throws and had 26 rebounds.
The Indians had similar team statistics against Campbellsville last Friday night, making over 70 percent of free throws and over 60 percent of field goals. There, Connor Loy was also MVP, ticking the scoreboard up by 26 points throughout the night (he made an identical performance against Bardstown, also scoring 26 points there). Isaiah Cochran was second again with 16 points. Brayton Coomer netted 15 points, and junior Dawson Gilbert 14.
Winning against Bardstown was made possible in part by the boys managing 10 out of 12 free throw attempts for a score of over 80 percent. Their three-pointers suffered that game, falling in at only 7 of 19 made, though their two-pointers still brought them up to a comfortable margin. Blane Bardin scored the fourth most points that game behind Loy, Cochran, and Gilbert with 100 percent of his field goals being made.
On Tuesday night, the boys took on Monroe County for their homecoming game. That game concluded with another win for the Indians, 88 to 49. The boys now sit at 19 wins for the season against four losses.
Their next game will be this Friday at Marion County starting at 8 p.m.
