Russell Jones, 81, of Columbus, Ohio, died October 1, 2017 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus.
He was born May 23, 1936, in Montpelier, Kentucky, to the late Ezra and Lynn Groves Jones. He served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and then went to work for the Department of Defense. He grew up in the church and gave his life to our Lord at an early age.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers; Eugene, Charlie, Rollin and Jerry Jones and three sisters; Mammie Lee, Ida Miller and Carine Anderson

His wife – Jeanette Ingram Jones of Columbus, Ohio
Five children – Abraham Jones, Russell Jones Jr., Jeanene Truman, Timothy Jones and Randy Jones all of Columbus, Ohio
One sister – Shirley Bradshaw of Louisville
Eight grandchildren – Dominique Tharp, Benjamin Jones, Nicholas Jones, Vlices Garcia, Cindy Garcia, Timothy Jones, Jakob Jones, Zachary Jones
Three great-grandchildren – Maliya Gavin, Arionna Tharp, Camerin Tharp
Several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends
Funeral service – Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Britt delivering the eulogy
