T.J. Health Columbia revealed its newly renovated lab on Friday.
The new lab has a designated waiting room, two blood draw areas and an employee break room. The testing area was expanded, which will broaden the testing that is available on site.
“It’s just amazing what it looks like now. It’s amazing. We are so happy with it,” said Kandra Spears, T.J. Columbia laboratory coordinator.
Brandon Dickey, chief of hospital oprations, asked the attendees to guess the number of tests performed in the lab each month. The total includes blood tests, swabs, urinalysis etc. The largest guess was 600 tests per month.
“We are over 8,000 tests that they did here last month in this location,” said Dickey. “So they are doing a lot of work. They very much deserve this space and so do our patients. We are excited to offer that.”
