Gregory Jarrod Willis, 51, of Columbia, has been indicted on assault charges stemming from a May 11 incident that left two men hospitalized with serious injuries.
An Adair County grand jury indicted Willis on two counts of assault, 1st degree, a Class B felony, on June 20.
Willis is accused of shooting then striking Mark Shawn Hatcher with his Chevrolet Tahoe and also striking Will Feese with his vehicle after Feese tried to provide assistance to Hatcher.
Willis was charged following the incident and a preliminary hearing was conducted last month in Adair District Court.
Willis and Hatcher were driving vehicles on Fairplay Road when the two vehicles sideswiped. Willis is accused of shooting Hatcher while sitting in his vehicle after Hatcher exited his vehicle and began walking in Willis’ direction. From there, Willis is accused of running over Hatcher and then Feese. Both Hatcher and Feese sustained serious injuries.
Willis is scheduled for arraignment in Adair Circuit Court on July 9 at 1 p.m. He is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.
Kentucky State Police Detectives Zack Scott and Mike Dubree testified before the grand jury.
