Suzanne Sims Dennis, 64, of White Mills, formerly Columbia, died Monday, March 13, 2017.
She was a native of Columbia, and a member of White Mills Christian Church where she taught Sunday School and played the piano.
She was a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College, Johnson Bible College, Campbellsville College, and earned her masters degree from Western Kentucky University. She was a member of the Heartland Dulcimer Club and played the piano for different churches for over 47 years. She taught school for 37 years having taught at Hodgenville Elementary, Lynnvale Elementary and currently taught first grade at Lakewood Elementary.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James Ralph and Nancy Lowe Sims.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tim Dennis; two daughters, Laura Beth (Jason) Hayes of Cecilia and Sarah Lynn (Tyler) Wells of Bloomington, Ind.; a sister, Mary Beth (Richard) Phelps of Columbia; and three grandchildren, Alexis Hayes, Jaxson Hayes and Lincoln Wells.
Funeral service is today at 11 a.m. at White Mills Christian Camp with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating with burial at Union Church Cemetery adjacent to White Mills Christian Church.
