William H. 'Billy' Sandusky, III

William H. “Billy” Sandusky, III, 80, of Columbia, passed away Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at his residence.

He was born on June 7, 1932, in Adair County, was the third generation of five to operate W.H. Sandusky & Son Lumber, and was founder of Sandusky Pallet and a member of Columbia Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Sandusky, Jr., and his mother, Lucille Sandusky Harmon.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Kathryn Caldwell Sandusky of Columbia; one daughter, Kathy Sandusky of Lexington; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Donna Sandusky of Columbia; three grandsons, Tyler, Kyle and Logan Sandusky; and by special caregivers, Vonda Derman and Peggy Tarter.

Funeral service was Monday, Sept. 24 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Martin officiating with burial in Columbia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the WHAS Crusade for Children in memory of Billy would be appreciated. These may be made at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Louis Berman, Thomas Smith, Jon France, Don Hale, Henry E. Sandusky and Lynn McLean.

Honorary casket bearers were Jim Harris, Wes Slaven, Dwight Meyer and David Brockman.
