Candace Rhiannon Sneed, aka Sport, 40, of Columbia, died Friday, August 4, 2023 at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville.

She was born February 22, 1983 in Campbellsville. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bobby and Jerri Moore and Hobert and Mary ‘Pete’ Coffey.

Candace excelled in lots of things in her short life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but mostly sitting at home. She lit up any room she walked in. She was fast with her witty words and could make the gloomiest day bright. She graduated from Adair County High School in 2001 with a Who’s Who Award, won multiple awards for horticulture and then graduated from PJ School of Cosmetology in 2013. Candace also worked in the family business, Moore’s Pool Room.

Survivors include her husband, Craig Sneed of Columbia; her father, Roger Coffey (Susan) of Jamestown; her mother, Kay Moore Coffey of Columbia; five sons, Gaven Bernard (Katyln Stotts), Greysen Bernard (Lyndsi Marcum), Gage Bernard, Gunnar Sneed and Prestin Sneed, all of Columbia; one daughter, Jocelyn Sneed (Tanner Rooks) of Columbia; two brothers, Brandon Coffey and Lucas Coffey (Brandy), all of Columbia; five nieces; three nephews and one on the way; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, JR and Dee Sneed of Columbia; her sister-in-law, Ashley McGinnis (Jason) of Columbia; several aunts, uncles, cousins that she loved dearly; and a special close friend, Amanda Pepper, and several more.

She was well loved and is going to be greatly missed by so many in life. She was special to everyone and if you ever had a ‘Sport’ experience you already know how kind, loving and giving she was. She would open her home to anyone who needed it. She ended her journey with giving life to others.

Funeral services were held Friday, August 11, 2023 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating and burial in Jones Chapel Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Wesley Thomas, Stephen ‘Petie’ Burton, Brandon Blair, Dennis Gilbert, Camdon Harvey and Donnie Curry.

Honorary casket bearers were Gaven, Greysen and Gage Bernard and Gunnar Sneed.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation to a fund established at Bank of Columbia for school supplies for the boys. The donation can be left at the funeral home.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
