Darrell Lee ‘Tom Dooley’ Phillips, 63, of Columbia, died Friday, July 19, 2024 at Taylor County Hospital in Campbellsville.
He was born on November 21, 1960 in Adair County to the late Joe and Inis Estes Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Phillips; and a sister, Patricia Fisher. Tom Dooley loved to fish, was a hard worker, whether he was trimming trees and shrubbery, mowing yards or helping his brothers.
Survivor include his wife, Twila Sinclair Phillips of Columbia; seven brothers, David Lawhorn (Terrie) of Greensburg, Bobby Phillips (Treva), Jim Phillips (Helen), Terry “Muscles” Phillips (Sherry), Steve “ToJo” Phillips (Stephanie) all of Columbia, Larry “Homer” Phillips of Russell Springs, and Danny Phillips (Evelyn) of Murray; five sisters, Diane Ford, Betty Burris (Richard), Sherry Biggerstaff (Danny), and Marsha Rowe all of Columbia, and Janice McCuiston of Murray; brothers-in-law, Terry Sinclair and Jack Sinclair (Cindy) all of Columbia; several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, including a special nephew, Shawn Sinclair.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Withers officiating and burial in Haven Hill Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Jeff Ford, Daniel Lawhorn, Josh Phillips, Richard Burris, Ronnie Grant, Matthew Wiggington.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
