Downtown Days now taking vendor applications

Posted

Downtown Days organizers have officially begun taking applications for vendors for the 2024 festivities.
October’s Downtown Days is gearing up and part of the process is getting food vendors as well as arts and crafts vendors to populate the event.
Doing so takes planning, hence the application process usually begins in the summer months.
The food vendor applications filled up almost immediately, being posted on June 26 and already having a waiting list established due to the heavy influx of applicants even prior to the official announcement that the application was available.
However, there are still plenty of slots open for the Arts and Crafts Vendors. While applications are not due until Sept. 23, those wishing to participate should apply as soon as possible to ensure a spot at the event. The vendor application also applies to organizations such as churches that would like to be present.
For handmade goods and produce, a booth will cost $62 for both Friday and Saturday; a combination of handmade goods and manufactured goods is $82 for both nights; school clubs, organizations, and churches will pay $42 for both nights.
Those wishing to participate in the pageantry portion of the event should also begin the application process.
Jada Atwood, City of Columbia finance director and public relations chair for Downtown Days, says those who wish to apply can do so at downtown-days.com, where more information regarding the event can also be found.
Updates on the annual car show for the festivities are available, and updates regarding the music should be coming soon. This year’s musical headliner has yet to be announced.
Columbia’s 21st Downtown Days will be held on the square on Friday, Oct. 11 and Saturday, Oct. 12.
