Hersel Melson, 88, of Knifley, died Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2:04 p.m. at his residence.
He was born May 13, 1935 in Adair County to the late Estel and Tida Melson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valtie Edel Wheat Melson; a daughter, Betty Crawhorn; and a granddaughter, Rebecca Judd. Hershel was a retired truck driver, working until his late 70’s.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Walker (Rusty) of Knifley; one son, Lee Melson of Jamestown; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Michael Helm officiating and burial in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
