On Thursday night, the Adair County Middle School girls’ basketball seventh and eighth grade teams played Campbellsville in the Central Kentucky Middle School Athletic Conference.
In a tight game, the seventh grade beat Campbellsville by a single point, winning 21-20. The eighth graders had more room to breathe when they scored 39 to Campbellsville’s 31.
Regardless of how much they won by, the seventh and eighth grade teams played hard, and their efforts were rewarded when they became the regular season champions.
The Adair sixth graders also did well at CKMSAC. As Campbellsville does not have a sixth grade basketball team, Adair County’s sixth graders played instead on Saturday. In back-to-back games, Adair County Middle School’s sixth grade girls’ basketball team became the CKMSAC runners-up.
The girls started Saturday on a good note by scoring 28 against Green County’s 22. The win brought them to a final match with Casey County, where they were unfortunately defeated 24-40.
“All the girls played so well. I’m extremely proud of them,” Coach Mike Sneed said.
