Randall Lee Banks, 74, of Columbia died Saturday, June 8, 2024.

He was born April 7, 1950 in Adair County to the late Marion Winfrey Banks and Lois Farris Bennett Banks who survives.  In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Banks and an infant sister, Carolyn Sue Banks.  Randall was a graduate of WKU with a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture and continued to be an avid Hilltopper fan.  He was a member of Cane Valley Baptist Church, retired from Bank of Columbia and a lifelong farmer.

Survivors include his mother, Lois Farris Bennett Banks; two daughters, MaryEllen Purcell (Anthony) of Nicholasville and Amy Banks; one sister, Betty Brockman (Bobby) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Matthew Purcell, Andrew Purcell and Ethan Purcell of Nicholasville; his former wife, Ellen Banks of Campbellsburg; and a host of other relatives and friends

Funeral services were held June 12, 2024 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with burial in Columbia Cemetery.

Casket Bearers were Anthony Purcell, Matthew Purcell, Andrew Purcell, Ethan Purcell, Brandon Hitch and Isaac Little. Honorary Casket Bearers were Roy Biggs, Bobby Brockman, Jimmy Todd and Debbie Selby.
