Shirley York Oliver, 81, of Glasgow, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at her residence. She was born December 22, 1942 in Burkesville to the late Buford Garmon and late Hatus (Hurt) Garmon. Shirley retired from Mallroy’s and was a member of Poplar Spring Church. She loved to travel and explore new places.
Shirley is survived by her son, Stevie Joe York (Marcella); sister, Letha Pierce; grandchildren, Stephanie Brewer and Louis York; great-grandchildren, Emma York, Dani York, Molly York, Sam Brewer and Zach Brewer; nephew, Michael Pierce; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russel Oliver; and a sister, Edna Shaw.
Her family has honored wishes of cremation.
A memorial service was held at A.F. Crow & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, June 29.
