Rebecca Diane Humphress, 68, of Columbia passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024 at T. J. Health Columbia. She was born on February 27, 1956 to the late James T. and Shirley McKim Thayer.
Mrs. Humphress was a member of 3trees Church and the Adair County History and Genealogy Center. She was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed crafting, the beach, Disney and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Humphress; six children, Tresa Ratliff (Greg), Dwayne Humphress and Jeremiah Harker both of Columbus, Indiana, Brent Humphress (Christy) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dottie Hawkins (Brandon) of Columbus, Indiana, and Jordan Humphress (Sydney); 14 grandchildren, Shauna Nunn, Sara Davis, Mike Ratliff, Michael Humphress, Kylah Humphress, Christian Williams, Elijah Williams, Chryseise Riddle, Adonah Riddle, Serenity Hawkins, Kal-El Hawkins, Christopher Riddle, Xena Hawkins and Layla Harker; three siblings, Roger Thayer (Kelly) of Hope, Indiana, Mike Thayer (Lisa) of Columbus, Indiana and Patricia Weber (Tom) of St. Petersburg, Florida; four great-grandchildren; and several other friends and relatives.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home with burial in the Hardin Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday after noon at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.
Bro. Gary Tucker will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Shauna Nunn, Sara Davis, Michael Humphress, Kylah Humphress, Christian Williams and Elijah Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be the remaining grandchildren.
